Thought i would start 1 of these again. I am positive this place jinxes mine but after the run i have been on it wont make any difference!!

West Brom v Arsenal away

Derby v Swansea away

Palace v Wolves away

QPR V Norwich Home

Leicester v Stockport Home

St Mirren v Aberdeen away

£5 Accie returns £288.56.

Grimsby v Brentford Away

Falkirk v Dundee United Away

St Mirren v Aberdeen Away

Ross County v Dunfermline Away(postponed)

£5 would have returned £126.91 but it will probably be about £60 treble now.

I seriously fucked up by taking Aberdeen on both lines as i don't normally double up like that. I was in a rush when filling coupon in.

I'll take that as a compliment mate...Image....but in an equine sense there are apparently conflicting reports re his ability to emulate last year's win...I'll play that one by ear. I did give you the name of what should be a banker (but don't blame me if it get's beaten...Image)....

Has anyone ever had a go at matched betting? I was told about it about a month ago and have made £130 so far. I won't be doing it every week since it's so time consuming but it's worth a go every so often when you need some free money

Preferrably football, but any sport really.

It's very difficult to wrap your head around, but can be profitable and like I said, it's free money. The guy that recommended it to me is a full time gambler who makes an extra £4000 a year from matched betting.

Basically, first you sign up to a betting exchange like Betfair (which lets you back against a certain outcome - called 'laying') Then, you search the net for free bet offers from bookies. Usually it's stuff like bet £50 and get a £50 free bet. I'll try my best to explain what happens;

When you find an offer, you first need to make the qualifying bet. The aim of the game here is to find a bet that you can match with a ‘lay’ at Betfair. You'll make a small loss here, so try to find back and lay odds that are as close together as possible, so that you minimise your loss. If you can't find odds close together, don't worry too much - it will easily be clawed back when you get your free bet anyway

What you need to look for is backing odds (at Ladbrokes for example) and lay odds (at Betfair) For example let's assume you can back Clyde to win at Partick at 4.25, and can lay the same outcome at 4.5 at Betfair. It's important to realise that you don't choose opposing outcomes. If you're backing Clyde at the bookies, then you also have to bet against Clyde at Betfair. For this bet you'll usually make a loss of 50p to £2 or £3 depending on the amount of money you place

===============================

A very simple example of the qualifying bet :

Team odds - 3.0 (2/1)
Bookie bet: £10
Betfair bet: £20 (your liability if the bet is lost)

Outcome 1 (bet won - your team wins):

You win £30, i.e. your stake of £10 plus £20 profit.
Bookmaker loses £20

If you are both the punter and the bookmaker, your total profit is:
(£30-£10) - £20 = £0

Outcome 2 (bet lost - your team does not win (draws or loses))

You lose £10, i.e. your stake.
Bookmaker gains £10,

If you are both the punter and the bookmaker, your total profit is:

£10 - £10 = £0

Therefore, total profit/loss = £0

===================================================

It's never that simple though as various factors (such as the rarity of finding the same back and lay odds, and the fact that Betfair take 5% commission off of your winnings) means that you'll usually make a modest loss. However, once you've made this bet, yo will be able to play with the free bet that will then be credited to your account!

Depending on the bookie, your account will either be credited right away, or with some bookies you won't be credited with the free bet until 24 hours after your qualifying bet is settled.

===================================================

Taking the same odds as the above example for clarity, an example of using your free bet;

Outcome 1 (your team wins):

You bet the free bet of £10 at 3.0 (2/1).
Your return is £30 with no outlay to you. On the lay side, your loss is £20, as before. Thus your overall profit is £30 - £20 = £10.

Outcome 2 (bet lost - your team loses or draws)

Your loss on the bet side is zero (as the bet was free). You gain the punter's stake of £10 on Betfair

So regardless of the outcome, you have made £10.

==========================================

It does take some time to get your head around, and there's a lot of ins and outs that I've not gone into. I don't want to spend ages explaining the ins an outs if no ones interested, but I'll be happy to pass on a few links/tips if anyone is.

Can you tell I've not got any plans tonight?

We are in complete turmoil right now, morale amongst players and fans is low, there are rumours about us possibly not surviving beyond this season, we are absolutely rank rotten, and in John Brown we have the worst Clyde manager ever(voted for by Clyde fans on the official site)

On top of all that, we are hopeless away, have our best defender suspended, our captain is injured and we have never beaten Thistle while Ian McCall's been in charge. Honestly, my advice would be to lump your life savings on Thistle tomorrow

Never been happier to lose a hunner quid !!
