Emirates tournament

Postby Harold's Glass on Sat Jul 31, 2010 11:16 pm

First game up...Celtic V Lyon. Must say that the good people of London & non Tims must have been enthralled to have been seranaded by the Celtic choralists and their endearing Irish folk songs. Right, that's that out of the way, down to the football. Lyon appear to treating this as a warm up training session while Sellic are huffing and puffing without blowing anyone's house down. Costa has missed a couple of decent chances for Sellic while wee Aidendinho has starred.....Posted Image. Lyon are 1 up at half time thanks to a rocket freekick from Bastos (I think?). Will Sellic fight back, will they have a penalty denied, will they have one awarded against them never, ever, ever was, will TWAT be carried out in a straight jacket?

A second excellent goal by Lyon but not before Broon the thug injured himself taking a wild swing at either the ball or an opponent (I'll go for the latter)....Pat's right Sellic are Shite....Image

2-1 now as Lyon take the foot of the gas.

Celtic have been awful again against a much weakened Lyon team. I keep laughing at the commentator reminding everybody that Lyons competitive season starts next weekend and celtic are a week behind in preparation as theirs doesn't start until the following week...Wrong ya fucking numpty...Celtics season started last wednesday ya nutter

Nice quiet Sunday sitting watching the football...AC Milan V Lyon has been pretty dull from the bits I have seen. Hopefully it warms up a tad when Arsenal play TWAT's 11.

Another good run out for the Hoops against a team far superior than anything they will come up against this season. To be honest Arsenal are just miles ahead in every department and they passed Celtic to death at times and if not for Zaluska it could have been 4 or 5 easy. The team showed some good spirit to dig in and score a couple of goals but as ive said before its no more than a training match so you cant read into it much as Arsenal eased off the gas. Its another 2 games towards getting match fitness and practically the whole squad was used to most will have benifitted from a run out, onto Wed nights game now but i feel they have given themselves too much of a mountain to climb. I hope that they at least give it a bash straight from the off though, id rather see them go out getting beat than sitting tight and maybe sneaking a 1-0 win, 2 centre halfs need to get games together whoever the 2 Lennon picks, for me it would be Hoovield and Rogne but it will most likely be Loovens in for Rogne.
